#TravelTuesday: My First Cruise

Happy #TravelTuesday! Reminiscing today about my first cruise. We sailed the Mexican Riviera aboard the Dawn Princess and I still remember boarding the ship through the atrium and hearing the pianist and feeling dazzled. I’ve since learned you don’t always get such a lovely first view of the interior of the ship so I am thrilled I got to experience that for my first cruise.

Happy travels and happy memories, cruisers!

What was it like to take a Holland America cruise to St. Thomas in 1971? The buffet situation is certainly different! And look! Portholes!

Wanderlust Wednesday: Infinity Pool on the Viking Star

Viking-Star

An infinity pool on a cruise ship? Yes, my fantasy is becoming a reality on Viking Cruises first ocean liner, the Viking Star.

“Imagine being surrounded by the sun dancing over the Mediterranean as you relax in the glass-backed Infinity Pool cantilevered off the ship’s stern. In the evening, the space transforms into the Aquavit Terrace, where you can dine to music playing and watch the world unfold.”

There are only a few ships that offer infinity pools so here’s to hoping this becomes a new trend. The Viking Star is due to set sail May 2015.
